Russell Taylor, MSW, CHIC

Russ Taylor is a coach, consultant and trainer with over 30 years of leadership experience in business, professional services and community organizations. His current work includes individual and organizational assessment, coaching for leadership and performance, team development, constructive conflict skills and career management.

Russ’s coaching work is focused on helping clients achieve results through personal and professional development, and by aligning values, strengths, goals and strategies. His experience includes work with senior executives and professionals, helping them to realize higher levels of motivation, learning, growth, achievement and contribution. His recent work has been concentrated in health care, but also has included the technology, financial services, pharmaceuticals, aerospace and manufacturing industries, higher education and nonprofits.

Russ’s strengths include the ability to address difficult emotional issues, help clients navigate through challenging transitions, and provide fresh perspectives and a strategic mindset. Russ’s coaching approach involves clear contracting and mutual accountability to results. It builds upon each individual’s unique strengths, and draws from adult development theory, evidence-based practices, and wherever available, empirical research in organization development and social sciences.

Prior to his current coaching and consulting roles, Russ held management and consulting positions for twelve years with Drake Beam Morin, a global human resources consulting firm, and management positions in several leading Pacific Northwest nonprofit organizations. He has been a member of the downtown Seattle Rotary for 17 years and has served as a volunteer board member and consultant with a number of educational, community and professional organizations.

Russ holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the University of Washington. He is a Certified Hudson Institute coach and a member of the International Coaching Federation. Russ’s continuing professional education includes work with the Center for Creative Leadership, the Hudson Institute of Santa Barbara, Coaches’ Training Institute, Eckerd College Leadership Development Institute, and Retirement Options.

Russ and his wife, Margaret, have been married for 24 years. They live in Edmonds, Washington.
